Selecting a DALI controller requires more than counting luminaires. Address capacity, bus power, groups, emergency devices and the upstream control architecture all affect the specification.
Count the complete bus
Drivers, sensors, input devices and emergency components may all consume addresses or bus power. Capacity should include commissioning headroom.

Decide whether schedules, scenes and sensor logic live inside the DALI controller, a KNX layer or a wider building platform.
